RootsRockReggaeRadio.com is here for you. It's like going to a dance to hear good music. Only, this dance comes on when you want it, and you can always come and go as you please, and we'll still be here "mashing up de place" with good music.
This is the brainchild of Rohan Harris, to continue the works and talents of his alter ego, Tony Culture. As a selector, Tony Culture worked on Love Choice International, Khadafy Sound, and Sounds of Culture, in New Jersey. In the late 70's to late 90's, the vibes in Dance Hall Reggae music was hot and irie. The 70's - 80's was about the struggle of the oppressed, Rastafari movement, societies attitudes and/or lack of it, rude boys, and such. The late 80's into the 90's was dominated by the great Shabba Ranks. He was the spokesman on behalf of girls, girls, girls, and more girls was the order of the moment. It was all about the girls - dancing, dressing, romancing, impressing.... Just irie man ! |
